Steps to Rate Your Employer as an LGBT Employee

Step 1 – From the OutBüro home page or the “LGBT Employer Reviews” menu page, search for your employer by their common name. If you don’t find your employer on OutBuro, follow our guide titled “Step to Add Your Employer Company to OutBuro“.

Step 2 – From the search results listing when the employer is listed you’ll see red “Write a review” button.

Step 3 – You may select the red “Write a review” button at any time when visible on an employer listing. If you click the employer logo or text link that display the Employer listing with information and reviews submitted so far.

Step 4 – Log in or register. You may use any profile/screen name. Remember the idea is to be anonymous. Only OutBüro will know your email which can be Gmail or other.

Step 5 – Write a catchy review title. Maybe come back to this once you write your review as that might provide you ideas.

Step 6 – Select if this Employer is your current employer or recent past – up to 5 years in the past. If currently employed there indicate the length of your current employment with them.

If a former employer indicates how long ago you worked for them. Next, indicate what your current or past employment state is/was.

Step 7 – Select and drag your rating response indicating how you personally feel based on your unique experience at your current employer or recent past employers on:

  • It has a commitment to diversity and inclusion overall.
  • It creates and fosters an environment that is LGBTQ inclusive and welcoming.
  • It has LGBTQ inclusive customer marketing – NOT just during Pride Month.
  • It is involved and visible supporting the LGBT employees, customers, and community, locally, regionally and/or nationally depending on the company size and reach.
  • It actively seeks to attract and retain LGBT candidates and employees.
  • How likely are you to recommend this employer to an LGBT friend?
  • Rate the CEO’s performance from your perspective.
  • Rate the company/organization’s senior leadership full team from your perspective.
  • Rate your direct manager from your perspective.

Step 8 – Have you experience discrimination or harassment as an LGBT person at this employer? Indicate Yes or No. If Yes, please provide a description of the event/incident while attempting to remain as anonymous as possible to your comfort level. DO NOT NAME NAMES. Be factual. Try to remove emotion from your description. Follow the Employer Review Guidelines while still conveying the facts.

Step 9 – Please provide an overall review of your employer knowing what’s you’ve already provided and taking the below more specific opportunities to voice your opinions below. If needed, complete the rest of this rating and come back to this before submitting.

Next, provide your thoughtful and constructive feedback for the CEO and senior management.

What’s the work pace like at this employer in your department/location? How many hours a day do you work on average normally?

Step 12 – How do you perceive the quality of your co-workers? Drag both sides to provide a lower and upper range. Next, do you enjoy interacting with your co-workers on average? If you do not like interacting with your co-workers please describe what you dislike? Again, DO NOT NAME NAMES.
