Steps to Add an Employer Listing by Authorized Person
By adding this Employer listing, you are confirming that you have the authority to do so on behalf of the company/organization.
If you are not authorized to be the administrator of the Employer listing and are a current or recent past employee you may add an Employer Listing at no cost to you with limited features. Steps to rate your employee as an LGBTQ employee.
Be Complete, Transparent and Provide Feedback
As you complete your Employer Listing, know this is intended for employers from 2 to 900,000 global employees. We are striving to encompass all scenarios while providing structure for future data analysis. If your organization is 18 people and LGBTQ owned and you simply do not have some of the policies in place now because it is intrinsic to you simply indicate NO. However, over the course of the next month or so you may consider adding those policies, benefits, and practices.
No human is perfect and companies/organizations are made up of lots of people. If you are completing this for a large organization and are lacking in some of the areas, being honest is the best policy of all. After all the information will be public and it’s best, to be honest, that you have areas you need and want to improve on versus having an employee in an anonymous review/rating or journalist call you out on it. While going through this if you have concerns about the status of your organization LGBTQ inclusive and welcoming environment, we’d be happy to recommend a few LGBTQ diversity and inclusion experts.
We welcome constructive feedback on how to make the system better for you as an employer and for your employees. How can we make it better for the size of your organization? Are you doing something positive that we have not included a method to convey?
Add Your Listing Even if Not 100% Complete
Some of the requested data to support your LGBTQ Employer Brand here on OutBüro may not be readily available to you and you will need time to gather it. It is best to start and edit/add to as that information becomes available than waiting. After all, employees may rate/review you even if you don’t claim/add your listing. Claiming or adding your listing enables features well beyond the basic listing current or recent past Employees can add. Those listing leave your brand looking absent and skimpy – not ideal. OutBüro is an Employee Review Management and Employer Brand tool for you to leverage and get ahead of the conversation with.
You will be able to edit the listing at any time during your subscription, so if not 100% complete or perfect that’s OK. You can hone it over the next few weeks as you get comfortable with the system and perhaps gather more of the information requested to make your listing be an outstanding example of LGBTQ Employer Branding.
Alrighty then – Let’s get started
Step 1 – Search First
From the OutBüro home page or the “LGBT Employer Reviews” menu option for a full screen, in the search enter your company/organization’s name and click search. If not found, try other ways your company may commonly know as. Example: HP and Hewlett Packard
If your company/organization is already listed, follow the Steps to Claim Employer Listing on OutBüro, If not already present, continue on with the following steps.
Step 2 – Click Add Employer Listing
Either choose the Add Employer Listing menu option or select the rainbow button in the right column “Add Employer Listing Now“
Or just click the rainbow button below. This will open a new window so that you may continue to refer back to this user guide.
Step 3 – Log in or Register
If you already have an OutBüro account login. Else, registering for an OutBüro account is short, simple, and free
Step 4 – Select Subscription Level
Select the Employer Listing annual subscription plan based on the size of your company/organization number of total employees globally under the single legal entity.
Subsidiaries and franchises may be added and associated with the parent entity under a separate Employer Listing subscription.
Step 5 – Company/Organization Name and Legal Structure
Enter the company/organization name as commonly known. Also, if known commonly by both the name and initials such as “Hewlett Packard” and “HP” enter it as “Hewlett Packard – HP” to ensure the Employer Listing is easily found and recognizable by most.
Add the company/organizaton logo.
If needed you can typically easily find the employer logo on Google by searching for the employer name and then choose the Image tab on Google. Right click and save the image to your device. Then to continue to drive search engine optimization (SEO) we’d greatly appreciate if you’d change the downloaded electronic file name to:[Employer Name] LGBT Employees Rate Employer Reviews Company Employee Branding OutBuro – Corporate Workplace Equality Gay Lesbian Queer Diversity Inclusion.[jpg or png].
After updating the image’s electronic file name, choose the Add Image button and locate the file on your device to upload.
Next, enter the company/organization’s main website. If it operates in more than one country, please enter the very top level URL so that when clicked by site visitors the website if configured to do so will redirect itself to the viewer’s location. Example: www.apple.com versus www.apple.com/us/
Step 6 – Legal Structure and Parent
Select the legal structure of the company/organization.
- Current options are:
- Company – Public
- Company – Private
- Sole Proprietory
- Government (Any level)
- PAC (Political Action Committee)
- Non-Profit (General focus)
- LGBTQ Non-Profit (LGBTQ community and issues specifically focused)
Next, if the company/organization is legally under the structure of a parent company/organization, select the appropriate Parent Company/Organization from those currently in the system. If not already in the system, please add it as an Employer at no cost then contact them to Claim their listing.
Step 7 – Very basics
A base Employer Listing subscription allows you to choose up to 3 industry categories. Select from the provided high-level industry categories. You’ll add Tags to further define it. However, if you believe a high-level industry category should be added to best reflect your company/organization, go ahead and select the closest match, then use the Support Contact Us form to provide your suggestion. If approved, it will be added and we’ll administratively add it to your Employer Listing.
If you’d to add more categories more you may add an Employer Listing Silver Expansion subscription add-on that will provide up to 3 additional industry category selections resulting in a total of 6.
A base Employer Listing subscription allows you to choose up to 3 tags to further describe your company/organization. When typing, please allow the system to potentially autofill suggestions that are already in use in the system. Choose the closest match or if needed add a tag if not present. Think in commonly used terms as once saved that tag will be potentially used by others moving forward.
Add the year the company/orgainization under its current legal structure.
Please enter the annual sales volume for this legal entity in US dollars. If not exactly known, an educated guess is fine.
Enter the company/organization’s headquarter location area code or country code. This will be used as a user search criteria and is not associated with the phone number you’ll add in a little bit.
- Add 212 NOT (212)
- Add +44 if a country code
Step 8 – Employee Count
For a short period, there may be two “Total Employees #” fields. When first developed the incorrect field type of “text” was implemented and we’ve had to add a new Total Employee # field as a numeric field so that we may leverage calculations in the future. Please enter ONLY into the field stating USE THIS. Once we’ve migrated the date from the old to the new, we’ll remove the incorrect field and update this user guide. THANKS.
